Job description
We are looking for a skilled REST API Developer to join our team in support of a large financial services institution. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the APIs that facilitate our financial services, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and seamlessly integrated with our AWS cloud environment. This is a role for a builder who enjoys solving technical challenges within the fast-paced world of financial technology., API Development: Build and maintain RESTful web services using modern backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Java). AWS Integration: Deploy and manage services within the AWS ecosystem, specifically utilizing Lambda, API Gateway, and S3. Financial Data Handling: Implement logic for financial transactions, account management, and data validation, ensuring high precision and accuracy. Database Management: Write and optimize queries for both SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases. Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers and product managers to define API contracts and deliver features that meet business requirements. Requirements
Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in backend development. Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working within Financial Services, Fintech, or a highly regulated industry (e.g., insurance or healthcare). Cloud Basics: Solid grasp of cloud computing concepts and serverless architecture. Problem Solving: Ability to debug complex issues across asynchronous services. Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for documenting API endpoints and collaborating with the team. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of REST principles, HTTP methods, JSON, and version control (Git). Preferred Skills Experience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, PyTest, or Mocha). Familiarity with Docker and containerization basics. Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline). Knowledge of financial compliance standards like PCI-DSS.
