Job description

The Senior Security Engineer drives the planning and product management process that provides the models, templates and principles that are used to design, implement, configure and operate cyber security tooling such as detection and response and identity management and network protection. They drive consistency, leverage and reuse to satisfy the business requirements for security services in an optimum manner.

You will

  • Work closely with enterprise and solution architects and other functional teams to implement adequate security solutions to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Research, design, advocate and implement new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners and vendors.

  • Evaluate and develop secure solutions, based on approved security architectures. Analyse business impact and exposure, based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.

  • Develop the business and technical artefacts that constitute the cyber security architecture and solutions.

  • Serve as a cyber security expert in SSE core security tooling development, network and/or platform (operating system) efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, * Proven experience designing, implementing and managing Microsoft identity and security solutions, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, authentication protocols and Conditional Access policies.

  • Strong practical knowledge of identity and access management across both server and end-user environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, MFA, lifecycle management, privileged access, identity governance, Windows and RHEL hardening, and device management.

  • Demonstrable experience defining and maintaining Conditional Access policies, access controls and identity security standards, with the ability to balance user experience, operational requirements and security risk.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS is essential, and experience in operational technology (OT) environments is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to conceptualise complex business and technical requirements into comprehensible models and templates.
