Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We're looking for a highly capable, hands-on AI Engineer with a strong traditional software engineering background and deep applied AI experience.

This is an Outside IR35 contract working on greenfield AI projects for enterprise clients. You'll be helping design and build real-world systems using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, agentic AI, and workflow automation.

This is not a research-only role. We need someone who can build production-grade systems, integrate with existing platforms, and move quickly from problem definition to working software.

You'll be a strong fit if you:

Have built real AI systems beyond prototypes

Can design and ship reliable backend services

Understand retrieval, ranking, chunking, embeddings, and evaluation

Have experience integrating LLMs into business workflows

Can work with ambiguity and move quickly

Are comfortable working with client-facing teams

Can turn vague business problems into working technical solutions

Care about practical delivery, not just experimentation

Nice to have:

Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP

Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar

Experience with Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma, pgvector, or similar

Experience with document processing, OCR, structured extraction, or enterprise search
