Job description

As a AWS Cloud/Middleware Engineer at Gainwell, you can contribute your skills as we harness the power of technology to help our clients improve the health and well-being of the members they serve - a community's most vulnerable. Your role in our mission The ideal candidate is familiar with the AWS platform and its cloud service offerings and has a deep understanding of cloud architecture and design with Middleware skills.

  • Performs moderately complex systems and Cloud Middleware administration tasks across Oracle WebLogic, Oracle APEX, Tomcat and Confluent Kafka.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and tunes Middleware systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Oversees software installations, upgrades, and patching for WebLogic domains, APEX applications, and Confluent Kafka clusters.
  • Collects and analyzes system metrics for capacity planning; develops and implements capacity strategies in coordination with senior IT staff.
  • Support AWS service including EC2, API Gateway, S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, WAF, Route53 and CloudTrail.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause-analysis.
  • Assists in the design and configuration of complex middleware and application environments to meet enterprise application demands.
  • Recommends and implement enhancements to system performance and reliability using best practices and automation.
  • Manages patching and maintenance activities to maintain the security and stability of middleware and application servers.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures, and technical workflows.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for application teams and end-users, responding to complex system-related issues and requests.
  • Provides technical mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and support staff.
  • Participate in incident calls and on-call rotations.
  • Support DR activities, * HYBRID ROLE: Considering applicants who live within a 30+ mile radius of Gold River, California who are able work onsite 2 days per week. May require additional onsite to attend meetings and collaborations in the office as needed.
  • Opportunities to travel through your work (0-10%)
  • Preference goes to Hybrid however will consider Remote for candidates outside of a 90 mile radius of Gold River, California.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a middleware engineer with following key skills:

  • Oracle WebLogic, Oracle APEX, Tomcat and Confluent Kafka.

  • Software installations, upgrades, and patching for WebLogic domains, APEX applications, and Confluent Kafka clusters

  • Support AWS service including EC2, API Gateway, S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, WAF, Route53 and CloudTrail

  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems administration, both on-prem and in a cloud environment.

  • AWS Certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $101,700.00 - $145,300.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
