Requirements

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and financial services sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Developer - IBM z/OS Connect to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Developer - IBM z/OS Connect, you will be an integral part of the mainframe modernization initiatives supporting innovative digital transformation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization., + Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs using IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (EE).

  • Expose mainframe assets such as CICS, IMS, COBOL, and DB2 as reusable services.

  • Create and maintain API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.

  • Develop and support COBOL programs and interface logic to enable API exposure.

  • Ensure security, performance, and reliability of mainframe APIs through best practices and troubleshooting.

What's Needed?

  • 7+ years of experience in z/OS mainframe development, including COBOL, JCL, and z/OS utilities.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition.

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON data formats, and API lifecycle management.

  • Experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, and mainframe security principles such as RACF and TLS/SSL.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
