Job description
The IT Specialist provides day-to-day technical support for users and plant operations across multiple facilities. The IT specialist supports desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, conferencing systems, user access, and other office and plant-floor technologies. This IT specialist position is based in Portland, TN and requires regular travel to support additional locations., The IT specialist is responsible for delivering responsive, hands-on technical support across both office and manufacturing environments.
- The IT specialist provides first-line help desk and end-user support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- The IT specialist troubleshoots and resolves issues involving PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, handheld devices, and related plant-floor equipment
- The IT specialist supports user access, account issues, and basic application troubleshooting needs
- The IT specialist manages, updates, and follows up on support tickets through the IT service management system
- The IT specialist assists with conference room systems, phone systems, and collaboration technologies
- The IT specialist performs basic physical support tasks including running cables, terminating connectors, and ensuring device connectivity
- The IT specialist coordinates with vendors and supports onsite technology needs across multiple plant locations
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in IT?, * 3+ years of desktop support, endpoint support, or IT support experience as an IT specialist or similar role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals, and end-user devices
- Experience working as an IT specialist in a business or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems and support workflows
- Strong customer service, communication, and follow-up skills expected of an IT specialist
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel regularly, including monthly travel to Louisville, KY and quarterly travel to Forest, MS
- Valid driver's license required
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent hands-on IT specialist experience
- Ability to perform basic cabling, connector termination, and physical device setup
- Experience supporting endpoint patching and device lifecycle management
- Exposure to ERP systems (AX or similar platforms) supporting IT specialist users
- Experience working with vendors and service contracts
- Familiarity with Zebra printers, handheld scanners, thin clients, conference room systems, and plant-floor technologies
- Exposure to access control systems, document management platforms, or manufacturing support applications
