Job description

MTG IT Professionals is looking for a dependable and experienced Level 2 Field Technician to join our technical services team. This is a hybrid position combining regular in-office work at our Bensalem headquarters with scheduled field assignments involving onsite client support, equipment installation, troubleshooting, cabling, and project work., The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing and supporting network equipment, servers, workstations, structured cabling, and related IT infrastructure. In-office days will be dedicated to ticket management, documentation, equipment staging, internal technical tasks, team collaboration, and the design and evaluation of products and solutions, while field days will focus on client site visits and project execution., * Travel to client sites to perform onsite technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and project work

  • Rack, mount, install, and cable network equipment, servers, switches, firewalls, UPS units, patch panels, and related hardware
  • Perform cabling tasks including cable termination, patch panel work, labeling, testing, tracing, and toning lines
  • Work with Desktop and Networking Teams
  • Assist with network closet cleanups, equipment replacements, and infrastructure improvements
  • Stage and prepare equipment before deployment, including configuration, labeling, testing, and asset documentation
  • Accurately document onsite work, ticket notes, equipment changes, and client updates
  • Use ticketing systems to manage assigned tasks, update statuses, and record time
  • Create and update technical documentation and SOPs based on company standards
  • Split time between the MTG office and client field assignments based on project schedules and service needs
  • Escalate issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership through resolution
  • Participate in the design and evaluation of IT products, solutions, and technologies to support client and internal needs
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, internal technical staff, and management

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, This role requires strong technical ability, professional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of tasks through completion., * Five or more years of IT support, field technician, desktop support, or related technical experience

  • Experience working in business or corporate IT environments
  • Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting network equipment, servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and related hardware
  • Experience with structured cabling, including termination, patch panels, cable testing, line tracing, and toning
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, service documentation, and time entry
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal teams
  • Ability to work independently onsite and make sound technical decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to lift, move, mount, and install IT equipment as needed

TECHNICAL SKILLS (PREFERRED)

  • Server and network equipment installation, rack mounting, cable management, and labeling
  • Patch panel work, cable termination, cable testing, and line toning
  • Workstation, laptop, printer, and peripheral hardware installation and repair
  • Basic VoIP phone deployment and troubleshooting
  • Audio visual troubleshooting and integration is a plus
  • MSP tools, RMM platforms, or PSA/ticketing systems experience is a plus

  • Low-voltage, structured cabling, or related field certifications, * High school or equivalent (Required)
