Job description

Team 360 Staffing is seeking a reliable and motivated Quality Assurance Technician to join our client's team. This role focuses on monitoring and evaluating the quality of finished goods through production sample evaluations, raw material inspections, and verification of production records. The Quality Assurance Technician will also assist with inventory management, support the supplier approval program, and handle customer documentation requests to ensure compliance and quality standards are consistently met., Product Quality Control Management (50-75%)

A. Laboratory:

  • Receive and record inbound samples of production QC samples
  • Analysis of production retain samples
  • Preparation and analysis of raw material samples for evaluation
  • Assist the preparation of benchtop samples of FG and new product development as needed

B. Records and Document Management:

  • Reviews production and traceability records from the plant and prepares the traceability information for consumption into ERP system.
  • Create and maintain finished product Certificate of Analysis
  • Review inbound FG receipts, then prepare and distribute Finished product releases
  • Maintain digital records related to production and product test results in ERP system and inappropriate folders
  • Organize and maintain physical production folders and verify documentation completeness
  • Verify COAs are received for all inbound production materials.
  • Production records review for HACCP and product specification compliance
  • Assist in production label review against approved proofs.

Food Safety and Quality: (10-15%)

  • Maintain records for our Supplier Approval program and Foreign Supplier Verification Program
  • Assist in review of supplier documentation for supplier approval (Review of HACCP and Food safety systems of manufacturing sites and supplier sites, evaluation of non-conformances and supplier risk assessments and auditing suppliers as part of our supplier site visit program)
  • Assist in the investigation of any FG or raw material quality issues that may impact the food safety or quality of our products.
  • Creation and implementation of SOPs and Food safety and quality policies

Inventory Support: (10-15%)

  • Assists in review of shelf life and expiration dates of raw material and ingredients inventory and items on hold
  • Prepares shelf life and expiration date information for Operations, Plant, and Sales
  • Assists in the determination of disposition for inventory on hold
  • Provide up-to-date information on approved suppliers and documentation needs to Purchaser
  • Review raw material COAs against specifications

QA/QC Lab and Freezer management (5-10%)

  • General laboratory duties such as cleaning, organization and sanitation for sample production
  • Determine supply needs and order supplies when necessary
  • Maintain SDS records for laboratory solutions
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of production retain library and raw material samples

Support for Sales and Customer Service (5-10%)

  • Complete customer information request packets, such as surveys and audit report request in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update general documents commonly required for customers
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and implementation of corrective and preventative actions
  • Assist in the maintenance of product information on customer-specific online systems

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in food science or a similar related field.

  • 2 years experience in quality assurance role in food manufacturing (or a similar field such as personal care/pharmaceutical) or auditing.

Skills:

  • Team-oriented and independently motivated with strong leadership skills in all essential job functions.
  • Excellent grammar and mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate figures and amounts (i.e., mass to volume conversion, proportions, percentages, area, and volume) as well as apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to duties.
  • Must be adept in the use of MS Windows 10 or later, particularly Excel, Word, and Access or similar database; Internet, email, inventory software, order processing systems, and manufacturing software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge:

  • FDA food regulations, HACCP, FSMA, Kosher, NGP requirements, QA systems, food processing, and supplier auditing.
  • Basic knowledge in Food Science or a related field is required.

Physical:

  • Capacity to walk up and down stairs while carrying objects weighing 32 lbs.
  • Ability to work on feet for at least 6 hours.
  • Ability to work at a computer for periods up to (8) hours.
  • Periodically needs to work onsite at a production facility during manufacturing for (8-12) hours in a day.
  • Ability to lift packages up to 32 lbs periodically.
  • May be required to drive his/her personal vehicle and supply proof of insurance.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license in the state employed.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record and automobile insurance meeting Company's requirements.
  • Must have the ability to travel.
  • HACCP certification or capable of attending and passing HACCP class.
  • Professional appearance and high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
