The Assistant Director of IT supports the IT Director in leading the technology strategy, operations, and service delivery for the FDR Group. This role helps ensure reliable, secure, and efficient information systems that align with organizational goals and industry best practices. It requires leadership, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to service excellence., * Lead and manage day-to-day IT services, monitor system performance, and act on behalf of the IT Director as needed
- Assist in developing, documenting, and enforcing IT policies, security standards, and operational procedures.
- Design, develop and validate management reports, dashboards, and analytics tools (e.g., SQL queries, Power BI) to support decision-making.
- Provide end-user training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure team competency and effectiveness.
- Regularly analyze departmental workflows, recommend improvements, and implement strategies that increase efficiency and service quality.
- Track project progress against milestones, deliver status reports weekly/monthly, and ensure clear communication with stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry practices, and innovations relevant to the organization's technology roadmap.
- Ensure strong coordination and communication between IT, management, internal users, and customers.
- Implement and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity plans.
- Maintain network services (file sharing, printing, databases, email), recommend enhancements, and ensure high-availability operations.
- Administer help desk systems, track issues, manage asset inventory, and recommend ways to improve service delivery.
Requirements
Do you have experience in System administration?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Proven experience in IT leadership, management, or senior technical roles.
- Experience managing or supervising technical staff is preferred
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure, system administration, cybersecurity fundamentals, and enterprise services.
- Proficiency with SQL, reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) and system documentation
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Effective communicator, coach, and team builder.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; advanced degree or certifications desired (e.g., ITIL, PMP).
