Job description
The door systems technician will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of door and access control hardware within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves inspecting and servicing mechanical and electronic door components to ensure proper functionality and safety., * Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various door systems including dock levelers, exterior gates, motor-operated doors, access control devices, and fire doors.
- Install, configure, and maintain electronic access control components such as sensors, mag locks, and key access systems.
- Perform mechanical inspections and checks on doors to ensure proper operation.
- Support preventative maintenance schedules for different door types and related hardware.
- Assist in general maintenance activities such as hanging pictures, repairing furniture, patching and painting, minor plumbing, and lighting repairs.
- Maintain safety standards and comply with all safety procedures and policies.
- Document work performed and materials used; maintain service records and support documentation.
- Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding project and workload updates.
- Assist with inventory of tools, parts, and equipment, and monitor quality of outside contractors' work.
- Perform safety checks and participate in ongoing training programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to analyze the operation of various door and gate systems and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Experience with door brands such as Stanley, Dormakaba, Tormax, Chase, ASI, Schlage, or similar.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Gmail, Google Docs, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of GMP procedures and experience in lab or manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- AAADM certification for automatic door installation, inspection, and maintenance is preferred.
- May be required to work overtime and perform call-in duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automatic door installation, inspection, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with cGMP procedures.
