Job description

The Cybersecurity Analyst (II or III) monitors, analyzes, and protects Chelan PUD's enterprise systems, including on-premises, cloud, and endpoint environments to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats. This role supports the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions, conducts vulnerability and risk assessments, and contributes to secure system design and operations.

At the III level, the role expands to include leading incident response efforts, mentoring team members, enhancing detection and automation capabilities, and partnering across teams to integrate cybersecurity into enterprise initiatives. This position plays a key role in safeguarding critical utility infrastructure while supporting reliable service delivery to our community.

Responsibilites

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events, threats, and incidents across network, endpoint, and cloud environments
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and coordinate timely remediation and patch management
  • Administer and maintain cybersecurity systems (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IAM, firewalls, email security)
  • Investigate security alerts, identify indicators of compromise (IOCs), and document findings and response actions
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to implement secure configurations and reduce organizational risk
  • (III level) Lead incident response efforts, improve detection and automation processes, and mentor junior team member

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response
  • Experience with enterprise security tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, vulnerability management)
  • Understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise infrastructure
  • Knowledge of cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, M365)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and mitigate risk
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to document, report, and collaborate across teams

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Cybersecurity Analyst II: Minimum 2+ years of relevant cybersecurity or IT security experience
  • Cybersecurity Analyst III: Minimum 5+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience with demonstrated progression
  • Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GSEC, GCED, CCSP) preferred

With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $133,800, annualized.

Cybersecurity Analyst III: The starting salary range for this position is $103,600 - $129,500 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $155,400, annualized.

Introductory Period: New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.
