Staff Software Engineer

Staff Software Engineer - (employer: Sirius XM Radio LLC; job location: Farmington Hills, MI) - Design, develop, test, and maintain advanced features and functionality for SiriusXM 360L Automotive applications for Linux-based OS using Android SDK, Core Java, Kotlin and RxJava, focusing on performance, reliability, and user experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards. Perform code reviews, work with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between the front-end and back-end systems, debug and resolve software defects and issues, and optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and responsiveness. Science, or Software Engineering, plus 5 years of post-Bachelor's progressive experience in the position offered or as a Software Developer, Automation Architect or Technology Associate or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, plus 3 years of experience in the position offered or as a Software Developer, Automation Architect or Technology Associate, All of the required experience must have included: developing cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using understanding of the mobile development lifecycle, best practices, and mobile UI/UX principles; troubleshooting and debugging complex software development issues; collaborating with cross-functional teams; and working with RESTful APIs, JSON, version control systems (e.g. Git) and agile development methodologies.
