Job description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Junior Systems Administrator to support and maintain internal IT infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who has experience in help desk support and is looking to grow into systems administration, virtualization, and infrastructure troubleshooting.You will work closely with senior IT staff to ensure system reliability, support users, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements. Key ResponsibilitiesSystems & Infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain Windows-based systems and servers
- Support and troubleshoot virtualization environments (Hyper-V or similar)
- Assist with backup and recovery processes (Veeam or equivalent)
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate system performance issues
Technical Support (Tier 1-2)
- Provide daily IT support to internal users across departments
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Resolve support tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Assist users with system access, configurations, and general IT needs
Networking & Troubleshooting
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, switches, latency)
- Diagnose and support site-specific technical issues
- Collaborate with senior staff to identify root causes of recurring problems
Projects & Improvements
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and optimization efforts
- Assist with infrastructure-related projects
- Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 1-3 years of IT support or systems administration experience
- Basic understanding of Windows Server environments
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
Preferred:
- Experience with Hyper-V or other virtualization platforms
- Familiarity with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam)
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, switches, VLANs)
- Experience with PowerShell or basic scripting
- Familiarity with Linux systems
- Experience in a professional business environment
