SUMMARY: The System Administrator's role is to manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Our Systems Administrator supports the West Music Mission of Encouraging people of all ages and abilities to: Play now. Play for Life. by supporting the systems our associates use to interact with customers. The ability to present technical ideas in user friendly language to a bunch of musicians is a key component of this role!, Server Administration:
- Configuration of servers on various platforms
- Maintain physical and virtual infrastructure
- Monitor server performance and perform server software and hardware upgrades
- Conduct research on and recommend emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of software procurement and development efforts to maintain competitive edge
Security Administration:
- Maintain network and server security through configuration best practices
- Design, implement and test disaster recovery plan
- Design, implement and mange backup and recovery systems
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations (PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
Network Administration:
- Monitor network performance and perform network hardware upgrades
- Responsible for administration of user accounts and access to network resources
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree or Certificate in Computer Science (or related field) plus three years of experience, OR a minimum of 5 years equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with network and/or server administration in a Microsoft environment that includes:
- Windows, Windows Server, M365, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server, Azure, Powershell, and Dynamics NAV.
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN
- Experience with patch management, vulnerability monitoring and intrusion detection procedures and tools
- General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN and NAS
- Must be available to work on call as needed. Must be available for occasional schedule variations including nights and weekends to accommodate maintenance or upgrade schedules and unplanned events.
- Candidate must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to be insured as a driver of West Music vehicles for occasional travel to other locations.
