Job description

The BigFix Engineer manages server patching and security compliance within Windows Engineering, specializing in the HCL BigFix ecosystem to maintain high uptime across the Windows Server fleet. Using custom Fixlets, Tasks, and Baselines authored in Relevance and ActionScript, this role performs surgical deployments of security agents and patches to meet aggressive compliance SLAs. The role also functions as a technical auditor, leveraging BigFix's real-time visibility to identify coverage gaps in MECM data and ensure 100% enterprise visibility. By maintaining the BigFix infrastructure and enforcing CIS/STIG hardening benchmarks, the BigFix Engineer remediates configuration drift and provides the definitive source of truth for server vulnerability status and reporting., '

  • Develop and maintain custom Fixlets and Tasks using Relevance Language and ActionScript to target specific server subsets.
  • Lead automated patching cycles for Windows Server environments while maintaining high availability and meeting security SLAs.
  • Deploy and manage core security agents across a global footprint while enforcing baseline configuration hardening.
  • Manage BigFix infrastructure health, including Root Servers and Relays, to ensure reliable data reporting and bandwidth efficiency.
  • D229Perform cross-tool data reconciliation between BigFix and MECM to identify endpoint reporting gaps and ensure total environment compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience supporting software development/engineering/maintenance roles and responsibilities
  • Master's degree, One-and-one- half (1.5) years of additional experience can substitute for one (1) year of a typical degree program.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

The starting pay range for this remote role is $105,840 - $245,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
