AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) enables organizations to minimize downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications. DRS uses cost-effective AWS resources to maintain an up-to-date copy of source servers on AWS, allowing for point-in-time recovery and failback to the primary site after an issue is resolved.

In this role you will work on a mission critical service that operates at scale. They ideal candidate needs be passionate about technology and collaborating with the best software developers in the world to innovate and delight out customers., We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team and participate in the full life cycle of AWS services - from requirements definition and software design through implementation and operational ownership. They must have a sound understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, and experience building large-scale distributed systems. We're looking for someone who enjoys working on complex systems and feels strongly about implement solutions that exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate will also need a forward-looking attitude, staying aware of the latest technology trends.

In this role, you'll actively participate in product definition, technical architecture review, iterative development, and code review. You'll develop automation testing to verify functionality as part of our CI/CD pipeline and provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of scalable and robust solutions. You will regularly collaborate with fellow engineers. You will utilize your strong verbal and written skills to communicate with stakeholders. Operational excellence is key, so you'll also participate in on-call rotations and incident response.

A day in the life Implement software features and updates to the DRS stack. Consult and collaborate with a team of talented engineers to resolve technical issues. Guide and mentor junior engineers. Participate in support rotations to ensure DRS delights our customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language, * 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel computing
