Job description
The Technology Development Team Intern will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of internal and customer-facing applications for an agricultural business. This internship provides hands-on experience building digital tools that improve farm operations, logistics, data collection, reporting, and customer engagement.
This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with an interest in applying technology to agriculture and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions

Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining mobile and/or web applications.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Support front-end and back-end development tasks as assigned.

Participate in feature development from concept through deployment.

Assist in designing intuitive user interfaces that are practical for field use.

Conduct basic usability testing and incorporate user feedback into updates.

Perform testing and debugging to ensure functionality and performance.

Document bugs and assist in troubleshooting technical issues.

Provide basic technical support to internal users when needed.
Requirements
- Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Swift, or similar).
- Familiarity with web or mobile development frameworks.
- Understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and API integration.
- Strong logical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues.
- Mobile Application development experience a plus.
- Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, agronomy, and management.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Interest in agriculture, operational efficiency, and technology-driven innovation.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position requires no supervisory responsibility., The position is primarily sedentary and requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires good manual dexterity and coordination with the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an internship position designed for the summer semester, 10-12 weeks is the expected duration. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Accounting Manager; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
