Job description

Join our innovative team as an HL7 FHIR Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing healthcare interoperability through the design, development, and implementation of HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards. As an HL7 FHIR Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions that enhance clinical workflows, ensure system security, and promote seamless interoperability within complex IT environments. Your expertise will drive impactful projects that transform healthcare data management and patient care delivery. Duties

  • Design, develop, and implement HL7 FHIR-based APIs and web services to facilitate secure and efficient healthcare data exchange.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to integrate HL7 FHIR standards into existing health IT infrastructure, including systems utilizing RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
  • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for healthcare data migration and synchronization across multiple databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL solutions.
  • Ensure system security by implementing cloud security protocols, network security measures like VPNs and firewalls, and system hardening practices in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage threat intelligence to safeguard sensitive health information against cyber threats.
  • Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware for streamlined development cycles.
  • Participate in system architecture planning by applying principles of service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices design, and system design best practices to optimize scalability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to system debugging, load balancing, operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (ESXi), and network configurations including DNS, DHCP, GPOs.
  • Contribute to Agile development processes by collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) standards. Skills

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Extensive knowledge of HL7 FHIR standards and experience developing FHIR-compliant APIs using RESTful API principles.

  • Strong background in solution architecture with expertise in designing scalable health IT systems integrating multiple platforms such as Salesforce, Pegasystems, React Express.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, C++, Ruby on Rails, VBA, Shell Scripting for automation and integration tasks.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components including operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/ESXi), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices including system hardening, vulnerability management/assessment, threat intelligence analysis, VPNs, firewalls.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git repositories for version control; experience implementing CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of computer networking concepts including DNS, DHCP protocols; experience configuring network security measures like GPOs is advantageous.
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies within Agile frameworks; ability to participate actively in sprint planning and iterative development cycles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex issues across diverse systems; ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
