Job description
We are seeking a Production Support Developer to support critical healthcare applications in a production environment. The Production Support Developer will focus on maintaining application stability, resolving incidents, and supporting backend systems that process business-critical data and reporting functions., This Production Support Developer role is heavily focused on production support, backend troubleshooting, and system stability rather than new feature development or front-end work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting enterprise applications built with .NET, SQL Server, and ETL/reporting tools.
The Production Support Developer will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, business users, and application developers to resolve incidents, monitor system health, and implement targeted fixes and enhancements.
This position operates within a contract-to-hire model and includes participation in a shared on-call rotation., * Serve as a primary Production Support Developer responsible for maintaining application stability and availability.
- Monitor and respond to production incidents and service requests through the ticketing system.
- Investigate and resolve application errors, job failures, and system alerts.
- Troubleshoot backend processing failures and file-based integrations.
- Support time-sensitive operational processes and reporting requirements.
- Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule for after-hours or weekend incidents.
Backend Application Support
- Diagnose and resolve issues within backend systems built on the Microsoft technology stack.
- Investigate SQL Server issues, stored procedures, and data processing workflows.
- Support ETL processes and reporting pipelines.
- Maintain system integrations and scheduled jobs supporting business operations.
- Monitor server resources and application health to prevent service disruptions.
Infrastructure & Platform Support
- Assist with infrastructure updates such as server upgrades, security patches, and certificate renewals.
- Monitor storage utilization and system performance metrics.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure platform stability and security compliance.
- Support disaster recovery exercises and application resiliency initiatives.
Business & User Support
- Act as a technical point of contact for business users experiencing production issues.
- Work with stakeholders to diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support operational reporting and compliance-related data requests.
Maintenance & Enhancement Development
- Implement targeted fixes and small enhancements to backend applications when required.
- Support security-driven application updates and remediation tasks.
- Maintain code repositories and ensure changes follow established deployment practices.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Document production issues, root causes, and solutions.
- Maintain operational support runbooks and system documentation.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases to improve support efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Production Support Developer or Application Support roles
- Strong backend development experience with:
- C# / .NET / ASP.NET Core
- SQL Server
- Experience troubleshooting production incidents in enterprise applications
- Experience working with:
- SSIS
- SSRS
- Source control tools (Git or Bitbucket)
- Experience supporting file-based system integrations and batch processes
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, * Experience supporting healthcare payer systems
- Experience with enterprise claims or membership systems
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS
- Basic familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular or Node.js (not required)
- Experience supporting large-scale reporting or data processing systems
