Job description
Systems Engineer I is an entry level position that will provide opportunities to work directly with technical peers, chief engineers, and systems engineers within the company as a technical contributor on complex communications signal processing problems within the ISR domain. The candidate will have opportunities in the development and application of advanced methods, theories, and research techniques applying systems engineering and signal processing to solve challenging problems., * Research and develop functional understanding of classic, modern, or emerging wireless communications protocols and systems (e.g. AM/FM, DMR, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, LoRa, Zigbee)
- Design and prototype software defined radio solutions for signal processing problems
- Model and simulate wireless signals and RF propagation effects
- Work with software development teams to develop, integrate, and test software defined radio systems
- Perform testing and validation of ISR systems in the laboratory and outdoor facilities and test ranges
Requirements
- S. Citizenship required due to program security requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred
- Experience: Zero (0) years to two (2) years of experience in similar position
Skills:
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or other software languages
- Understanding of basic digital signal processing theories and applications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
Other:
- Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time, * Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a digital signal processing emphasis from an accredited college/university.
