Job description

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a key strategic partner to the CFO and the Finance leadership team, transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and business growth. This role owns the design, development, and governance of enterprise reporting, financial dashboards, and advanced analytics across all business units. The Senior BI Analyst collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Health & Safety, Sales, and Executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making at every level of the organization., * Design, build, and maintain financial dashboards, KPI scorecards, and executive reporting packages.

  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports to the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Develop variance analysis, trend analysis, and forward-looking financial models to support forecasting and budgeting.
  • Partner with accounting and FP&A to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reported data.
  • Lead the development and optimization of BI infrastructure including data models, pipelines, and reporting environments (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Define and enforce data governance standards, including data definitions, hierarchies, and reporting logic.
  • Identify and integrate data sources across ERP, CRM, HRIS, operations, and safety platforms into a unified reporting environment.
  • Ensure data integrity, reliability, and security across all BI systems and reporting outputs.
  • Develop profitability analysis by service line, region, project, and customer to support strategic pricing and resource decisions.
  • Build operational performance metrics in partnership with Operations and H&S leadership, including labor efficiency, utilization, and cost drivers.
  • Support M&A due diligence, capital planning, and strategic initiatives through scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Evaluate business performance against benchmarks and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Prepare and present data-driven executive briefings, board materials, and investor reporting packages.
  • Serve as the primary BI resource for CFO projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives and visualizations for non-technical audiences.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to department leaders on data interpretation, reporting needs, and analytical priorities.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve reporting processes and data workflows.
  • Champion a data-driven culture across the organization by developing self-service reporting capabilities and training end users.
  • Stay current with BI technology trends, tools, and best practices; recommend and implement improvements as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Chartered Financial Analyst certification?, Do you have experience in Variance analysis?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.

  • Ability to work independently or part of a team while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
  • Demonstrated ability to build financial models, dashboards, and executive-level reports.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, Waste Link, etc.).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
  • Experience in environmental services, construction, field services, or similar project-based industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics and automation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Waste Link, HubSpot, Go Canvas, NetSuite, or similar) preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data to executive audiences., * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, financial analysis, or data analytics.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or MBA preferred.
  • CFA, CPA, or relevant data/analytics certification a plus.
