Job description
In this role, Swift development with a server-side focus is at the heart of everything you teach and write. You will own the full arc of technical education for Apple's Swift server curriculum - identifying what engineers need to learn, designing the courses, and delivering them with excellence. You will also embrace GenAi/Agentic tooling to aid in authoring technical documentation and hands-on labs that extend learning beyond the classroom.
","responsibilities":"Design and deliver Swift server-side training programs and curricula that serve diverse engineering audiences at Apple, covering the full Swift server stack
Author clear, accurate, Swift server-focused technical documentation including developer guides, API references, and annotated code samples
Build, administer, and continuously improve the team's LMS - including Swift course creation, learner journeys, and platform management
Present and facilitate Swift server technical learning experiences for executive/leadership audiences, translating complex engineering concepts into strategic, actionable insight
Develop hands-on lab exercises and full-stack Swift projects using Vapor 4, OpenAPI, Fluent ORM, PostgreSQL, Docker, and cloud platforms that produce real, shippable features
Partner with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to validate Swift server content and ensure alignment with evolving standards and practices
Champion an exceptional learner experience - measuring outcomes, gathering feedback, and iterating with the same rigor applied to product development
Advance the team's approach to GenAI-assisted Swift development by embedding tools like Claude Code, MCP Agents, and prompt engineering into training and documentation workflows
Requirements
Demonstrated passion for learner experience and a track record of improving student outcomes through intentional curriculum and lab design
Experience developing pedagogical frameworks or instructional design standards adopted at an organizational level
Familiarity with DocC or other documentation-as-code toolchains and developer documentation workflows
Experience with DevOps practices and tooling, including CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
Experience teaching for Apple internal technical audiences
Agile and Scrum experience, including working within or alongside Agile engineering teams
Certifications in Scrum (Developer, Master, or Product Owner) or relevant cloud/platform certifications
Experience delivering technical training in large-scale or high-visibility formats (conferences, summits, workshops with 100+ attendees)
Familiarity with accessibility best practices in both documentation and instructional content design
Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of experience designing and delivering professional technical training programs for software engineering audiences, with a focus on server-side or backend development
10+ years of experience as a technical writer, producing developer-facing documentation such as API references, server-side developer guides, and tutorials
10+ years of software development experience, including hands-on experience building server-side applications
Experience designing and teaching Swift server-side development using Vapor 4, OpenAPI, Fluent ORM, Swift Testing, Docker, PostgreSQL, and JWT
Experience developing and managing a Learning Management System (LMS), including course authoring and learner administration
Experience presenting technical content to executive-level audiences
Experience writing code in Swift, Java, C#, and SQL
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or equivalent providers
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including prompt engineering and agentic development tools such as Claude Code and MCP Agents
