Job description
Looking for a ServiceNow Developer/Architect who can both build and think architecturally. This role sits between pure development and high-level platform design-you'll be hands-on configuring and customizing ServiceNow while also helping shape scalable, maintainable solutions across the platform.
You'll partner closely with stakeholders, translate business needs into technical solutions, and help ensure our ServiceNow environment is secure, performant, and aligned with best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
Development & Configuration
- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications and custom solutions
- Configure core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps (based on your environment)
- Build and maintain:
- Business Rules
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- Flow Designer workflows
- Script Includes
- Develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and IntegrationHub
Architecture & Platform Design
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Provide guidance on best practices for configuration vs. customization
- Support CMDB design, data models, and governance
- Participate in release planning, upgrades, and instance strategy (dev/test/prod)
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements
- Translate functional requirements into technical designs and solutions
- Review code and configurations to ensure quality and maintainability
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Requirements
- 3-6 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience
- ServiceNow certifications
- Strong experience with JavaScript in the ServiceNow platform
- Solid understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data models, and security model
- Experience building integrations with external systems
- Experience acting as a technical lead or solution designer on ServiceNow projects
- Exposure to ServiceNow upgrades and platform optimization efforts
- Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, pharma, finance, etc.)
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing in ServiceNow
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field.
- Master's Degree preferred

The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM's compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
