Job description

We are seeking an Interoperability Engineer to design, implement, and support data integration across our organization. In this role, you'll partner with IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless, secure, and accurate data exchange while supporting critical systems and workflows., * Design and build HL7 v2.x interfaces using Integration Engine

  • Develop data mappings and transformations using JavaScript (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU)
  • Configure and manage integrations across TCP/IP, SFTP, REST, and SOAP protocols
  • Monitor interface performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve data errors
  • Lead integration projects from planning through implementation and support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Perform testing (unit, integration, UAT) to ensure data integrity and reliability
  • Maintain clear, organized technical documentation and data flow diagrams
  • Support workflow improvements using Power Automate
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data security standards
  • Participate in go-lives and provide occasional after-hours support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with interfaces/integration; healthcare IT experience preferred
  • Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech
  • Strong knowledge of Mirth Connect and HL7 v2.x messaging
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and SQL
  • Familiarity with FHIR, CCDA, and XML
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP)
  • Experience with Power Automate and Selenium is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, * Ability to lift and move moderate equipment if needed
