Job description
- Design and architect scalable, secure data platforms leveraging cloud and big data technologies
- Lead implementation and optimization of data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and analytics workflows
- Provide hands-on expertise in big data ecosystems (e.g., Spark, distributed data processing frameworks)
- Architect and support data visualization solutions, including dashboards and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data architecture, integration strategies, and performance optimization approaches
- Ensure alignment with federal security, compliance, and governance standards
- Support proposal development activities, including solutioning and technical approach contributions
- Serve as a technical leader and advisor across engineering and analytics teams
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data platform architecture, big data technologies, and visualization tools, along with prior experience supporting federal agencies such as DHS or USCIS., * U.S. Citizenship required

12+ years of experience in IT, data architecture, or data platform engineering

Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing big data solutions (e.g., Apache Spark, distributed data platforms)

Experience designing and supporting cloud-based data environments (AWS preferred)

Hands-on experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau)

Prior experience supporting federal programs (DHS, USCIS, or similar environments strongly preferred)

Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and system integration

Ability to operate at both strategic architecture level and hands-on technical level
Required Certifications
- Tableau Certification (Desktop or Server, or equivalent)
- Big Data / Distributed Data Certification (e.g., Apache Spark, Databricks, or equivalent), * Experience supporting USCIS data environments or analytics platforms
- Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms
- AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting large-scale federal data modernization programs
Work Environment
- Remote with ability to support client engagements in the Washington, DC / Maryland area as needed
- This position may be contingent upon contract award

- Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
- Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required

Salary Range:
- $185,000 - $285,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This range reflects a broad spectrum of potential candidates, with salary offers based on skills, experience, and expertise in the field., Benefits include, but are not limited to:
