Job description

Reporting to the Hardware Engineering Senior Manager, the Hardware Manager, Core Systems is responsible for overseeing a team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to support the development of new Hach products, ensuring all performance, quality, and reliability standards are met.

This position is part of the Hardware Engineering team located in Loveland, Colorado, and will be on-site.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Leading a team of 10-15 Electrical/Mechanical Engineers to design, develop and sustain the core systems and power of Hach products, including the power architecture, system control boards and sensors.
  • Assessing Electrical and Mechanical Engineering talent through comprehensive performance reviews, targeted development plans, merit recommendations, and capacity planning, including recruitment activities.
  • Identifying and resolving complex issues within the team, proactively updating or modifying work methods when necessary.
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional leadership on new product development and sustaining projects and implementation of best practices.
  • Modeling strong problem solving and critical thinking behaviors.
  • Monitoring progress, removing obstacles, and addressing emerging challenges to maintain project momentum.
  • Ensuring thoughtful use of established product development processes and best practices.
  • Establishing individual and team objectives in collaboration with R&D leadership.

More about us: https://www.hach.com/about-us, * BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive new product development, engineering, and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience serving in a high-impact project leadership role including partnering with other business functions.
  • Broad electromechanical design, testing, and manufacturing experience
  • Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary new product development engineering efforts from definition to release and sustainment.

  • 401(k), The compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
