Job description
The Sr. Application Developer - SharePoint is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining solutions on the SharePoint platform to support enterprise collaboration, content management, and workflow automation. This role includes migrating legacy systems, developing custom SharePoint components, integrating with other enterprise platforms, and ensuring optimal performance and security of SharePoint environments. Duties include system analysis, solution architecture, development, testing, documentation, and support of SharePoint-based applications and services. Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows
- Migrates legacy content and applications to SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server
- Designs and customizes SharePoint pages using modern frameworks (e.g., SPFx, Power Platform)
- Provides operational support for SharePoint environments and integrated applications
- Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains SharePoint solutions
- Adheres to SDLC and Agile methodologies for project delivery
- Establishes and follows development standards for SharePoint including governance, security, and performance
- Prepares detailed technical specifications and test plans
- Performs quality assurance reviews of SharePoint configurations and custom code
- Estimates time and cost for SharePoint-related projects
- Evaluates and configures third-party SharePoint add-ins and integrations
- Maintains technical documentation for SharePoint solutions
- Reviews and enhances SharePoint architecture and design patterns
Other Functions
- Collaborates with business units to define SharePoint requirements and deliver solutions
- Leads small SharePoint initiatives and enhancements
- Provides guidance to junior SharePoint developers and site owners
- Supports integration with Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate)
- Reports on SharePoint usage, performance, and adoption
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- Strong SharePoint development and administration skills
- Proficiency in SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server, and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI integration
- Knowledge of SPFx, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs
- Familiarity with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, and legacy workflows
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Understanding of SharePoint governance, permissions, and security models
- Experience with SharePoint migration tools and techniques
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years' experience in SharePoint development and administration including:
- SharePoint platform development and configuration
- JavaScript/TypeScript and SharePoint APIs
- Integration with Microsoft 365 and external systems o Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer or equivalent
OR
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years' experience in SharePoint development and administration including:
- SharePoint platform development and configuration
- JavaScript/TypeScript and SharePoint APIs
- Integration with Microsoft 365 and external systems o Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer or equivalent
