Job description

The Senior Principal SAP System Administrator is an enterprise-level technical authority responsible for the architecture, administration, security, and lifecycle management of KDP's SAP landscape. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of SAP platforms while providing strategic technical leadership and aligning SAP system operations with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Serve as the senior technical authority for SAP system administration across ECC, S/4HANA, and related SAP platforms.

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade SAP systems including ABAP, Java, and HANA-based environments.

Design and manage SAP system architecture, transports, system copies, refreshes, and client administration.

Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning for SAP application and database layers.

Lead SAP integration activities involving interfaces, middleware, IDocs, RFCs, and APIs.

Troubleshoot complex SAP system issues and perform deep root-cause analysis across infrastructure and application layers.

Drive automation of SAP operational tasks using scripting and orchestration tools.

Collaborate with SAP Basis, HANA, Network, Hosting, Security, and Application teams to ensure end-to-end system stability.

Mentor and provide technical leadership to SAP administrators and engineers.

Evaluate SAP technology solutions with consideration for cost, risk, performance, and business value. Security, Risk & Compliance Maintain secure SAP system environments in alignment with KDP security standards and policies.

Implement SAP security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

Support audits, compliance requirements, and SAP-related risk assessments.

Ensure proper access controls, monitoring, logging, and segregation of duties. Business & Financial Accountability This role understands the financial and operational impact of SAP system decisions. The Senior Principal SAP System Administrator evaluates trade-offs between cost, performance, risk, and value, and ensures SAP platform strategies support KDP's business priorities and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

Required Knowledge & Skills Expert knowledge of SAP system administration (ECC, S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA).

Strong understanding of SAP Basis operations, system copies, upgrades, and transport management.

Advanced knowledge of SAP integrations (IDocs, RFCs, interfaces, middleware).

Experience with SAP on-prem and cloud or hybrid hosting models.

Advanced scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, SQL, or similar).

Strong understanding of SAP security, compliance, and audit requirements.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience Typically requires extensive experience in SAP system administration and enterprise infrastructure, with demonstrated leadership at the Senior Principal level and the ability to influence technical direction without direct authority.
