Job description

As a Systems Engineer - Virtualization, you will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. You will also manage our Microsoft Server and Linux environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. Experience with cloud firewalls and Veeam for backup and disaster recovery is essential. Basic scripting and coding skills are required to automate processes and enhance operational efficiency. Proficiency in virtualization technologies is a must., * Deploy and manage cloud-based infrastructure in Microsoft Azure;

  • Perform server administration for Microsoft Server and Linux environments;
  • Implement and manage cloud firewall configurations to secure Azure environments;
  • Utilize Veeam for backup, recovery, and data protection within cloud and on-premise systems;
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Azure and server systems;
  • Develop automation scripts and tools using languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and cloud service issues effectively and efficiently;
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams to support application deployment and maintenance;
  • Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement necessary upgrades;
  • Create and maintain documentation for NOC systems, processes, and configurations;
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to cloud computing and server administration;
  • Ability to work "on-call" and respond to service escalations;
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for support and deployments/upgrades.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Microsoft Azure platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server and Linux administration.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
  • Required experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud firewall configurations and management.
  • Proficiency with Veeam for backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Basic scripting and coding skills in languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's/Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar related field.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect certifications preferred.
