Job description

As a Principal Software Engineer on our AI Security team, you will be a hands-on technical leader helping shape how we build, secure, and scale AI systems across the company. You will review and evolve our AI security standards, assess internal AI projects, and apply your deep technical background and threat landscape awareness to drive meaningful improvements to our security posture.

This role requires a unique blend of security expertise, systems thinking, software engineering experience, and strong cross-functional communication. You will work closely with engineering teams across domains and serve as a force multiplier for security and safe AI development.

About the team: The AI Security Team implements a comprehensive defense-in-depth strategy, integrating advanced AI and cybersecurity to safeguard the enterprise's AI-driven assets. This team designs robust security architectures addressing risks specific to Generative AI and Agentic Workflows, including prompt injection, training data integrity, and model supply chain management. By continuously evolving defenses against emerging threats, the team ensures resilient protection. Members apply expertise in systems engineering, cloud migration, CI/CD, software coding, and system administration to maintain secure, scalable infrastructure supporting innovative AI solutions across the organization.

What you'll do...

  • Review internal AI projects, pipelines, and architectures for security gaps, and drive mitigations.

  • Analyze emerging global threats and risks related to AI, and update our security policies, playbooks, and standards accordingly.

  • Define and refine scalable security processes and controls for AI and ML systems across their lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with engineers and product teams to implement secure-by-default patterns in CI/CD and MLOps workflows.

  • Build reference implementations and prototypes to validate security controls in real-world AI environments.

  • Write clear technical documentation, design diagrams, and decision records for broad consumption across engineering teams.

  • Act as a mentor and trusted advisor on secure engineering and AI safety topics.

Requirements

Do you have a Master's degree?, * Developer background with Python hands-on programming skills.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Git repositories and version control best practices.
  • Hyperscale cloud platform experience: Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Linux expertise and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • AI/ML Fundamentals: Deep understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, AI frameworks, Generative AI and LLMs and model deployment processes (MLOps) and Hugging Face.
  • AI Model Security: Knowledge of specific threats to AI/ML models, including adversarial attacks (e.g., evasion, poisoning), model inversion, and membership inference.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools to boost engineering productivity and a strong grasp of Generative AI technologies, concepts and risks., Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 5 years'experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies.

Option 2: 7 years' experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization relatedtechnologies.

Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 3 Years of relevant experience in configuration management, developing automation for Provisioning and Orchestration, experience developing and managing service-level objectives (SLOs)/service level indicators (SLIs) for Infrastructure Service availability and performance, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
