Job description

Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S)has an immediate opening for anExperienced Full Stack Java Developer / AI-Enabled Modernization Developerto join theArtificial Intelligence (AI)Strategy Officeteam. Our mission is to transform our IDT&S organization into the best in the aerospace and defense industry by enhancingdigitalexperience, fostering a product-centric culture, and implementing top-tier tools and processes.

This role is part of a newly formed IDT&S team at the center of Boeing's AI strategy. We are building a dedicated office focused on accelerating AI adoption across the enterprise. Joining now means you will help shape the technical direction, influence team culture, and contribute to how AI transforms our products, platforms, and operations.

The primary responsibility of this position is to support Boeing teams with the development, maintenance, modernization, and integration of enterprise software applications using modern software development practices and AI-enabled tooling. You will work as part of a collaborative team of software developers focused on accelerating enterprise application updates and modernization efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design programs,tests, documentation, andmaintaincomputing applications and modernization solutions

  • Gather and evaluates end-user requirements and translates them into technical solutions (using AI tools)

  • UtilizeAI agents and tools to support the writing and compilation of code and the construction of database objects based on documented design

  • Analyzeinformation todeterminearchitecture specifications, software compatibility, application security needs, and other application architecture requirements

  • Modifyor upgrades applications tomaintainsoftware functionality and performance

  • Identifyandresolveprogramming or application architecture problems

  • Support technology stack updates and legacy application modernization efforts across enterprise teams

  • ApplyAI tooling to support code analysis, refactoring, test generation, documentation, and migration activities

  • Support Specialized-Driven Development (SDD) and/or Design-Driven Development (DDD) practices to improve traceability and quality

  • Work in close collaboration with Information Security, Cloud Enablement, and vendor partners to ensure secure and compliant AI adoption

  • Responsible for trainingand supports developers and Agile Scrum teams on best practices in AI tooling, secure development, and modernization methods

  • Responsibleforreviewingsystem performance andrecommendingimprovements to support maintainability, scalability, and security

Requirements

Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 5+ years of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) software development

  • 5+ years of experience with application development in one or more programming languages such as C#/C-Sharp, .NET, C, C++, Java, Python, R, SQL, Pro*C/C++, Perl, Shell Scripting, and Web/HTML technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, web services, REST, microservices etc.)

  • 5+ years of experience in working with agile teams and agile software development

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g.,AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • 5+ years of experience developing, analyzing, and deploying Artificial Intelligence and related algorithms

  • 5+ years of experience in a dedicated Software Developer role, * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 5+ years of experience with database design, development of queries in Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL

  • Experience with AI tooling for software development, code transformation, test automation, documentation, or analysis

  • Experience supporting legacy modernization initiatives, including rehosting, re-platforming, rearchitecting, or refactoring

  • Experience with Spec-Driven Development or Design-Driven Development practices

  • Experience training, coaching, or mentoring developers on modern engineering tools and practices

  • Experience collaborating with vendors on technical solution evaluation or adoption

  • Experience working independently or with limited direction on moderately complex assignments

  • Experience with secure coding, Dev/Sec/Ops,Continuous Integration/ContinuousDevelopment (CI/CD), and enterprise governance practices
