Job description
Supervise, plan, and implement daily operations of the Information Technology department. Responsibilities include overseeing the helpdesk/user support staff and managing three systems administrators. This role provides escalated support for resolving trouble tickets as well as training and developing new staff to fulfill these responsibilities., * Oversee the planning and coordination of technical support for the electronic health systems, including management of patches, updates, and other system changes.
- Serve as primary liaison with system stakeholders to communicate scheduling and upcoming changes.
- Monitor overall network performance and coordinate with staff and vendors to perform maintenance and upgrades. Support organizational efforts to improve connectivity for providers working in village clinics.
- Oversee department response to technology problems, maintenance and emergencies. Effectively communicate work plans, status, and strategies to department directors and other stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee backup and recovery systems. Maintain technology disaster recovery plan and serve as technology lead for Incident Command team when Incident Command is activated.
- Assists Information Services staff in general tasks, such as personal computer troubleshooting, upgrading personal computer hardware and software components, and responding to the needs and questions of users.
- Evaluate and plan for the safe integration of new equipment and services into the technology environment.
- Supervise and train new staff as needed.
- Perform, document and/or verify daily system checks.
- Safely use Department vehicle with approval for business use during business hours.

- Valid State of Alaska Driver's License.
- Network or Systems Administrator Certificate, preferred.
Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field, or the equivalent training and work experience preferred.

Five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
