Job description
The Senior Data Scientist solves complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches by combining analytical, mathematical, and technical skills. This role involves designing, implementing, and validating advanced algorithms to analyze diverse data sources and deliver impactful business outcomes through statistical and predictive modeling., * Participate in projects to support business goals using data science methodologies
- Solve complex business problems using advanced analytical techniques
- Develop algorithms using statistical programming languages and tools
- Partner with domain experts to validate model performance and outcomes
- Collaborate with Solution Architects on data flow, data modeling, and tool selection
- Support rapid prototyping and development of analytical products
- Mentor and support less experienced team members
- Clearly communicate methodologies, results, and insights to stakeholders
- Contribute to team growth through knowledge sharing and collaboration
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Participate in project and team meetings
- Review prior work and continue development through coding
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Identify root causes of problems and implement solutions
- Ensure smooth execution of ongoing data science projects
Requirements
- Strong experience in Databricks (required)
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (required)
- Experience with applied machine learning and predictive modeling
- Strong background in statistical analysis and complex problem solving
- Experience building analytical or ML solutions in cloud or distributed environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and domain experts, * Experience with the Ray framework (highly preferred)
- Familiarity with Reliability Engineering practices
- Experience with big data platforms and tools
- Experience in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Knowledge of machine learning validation and testing practices, * Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Effective communication across diverse audiences
- Ability to develop and mentor others
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage complex and large-scale data challenges
- Tech-savvy with awareness of emerging tools and technologies
Technical Competencies Include:
- Data Mining & Data Visualization
- Predictive Modeling & Machine Learning
- Statistical Modeling (regression, classification, time series, etc.)
- Programming and code development best practices
- Requirements analysis and solution design, * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required
- Master's degree preferred (Data Science, IT, or related field)
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
- May require compliance with export control regulations, * Intermediate experience in data science or related field
- Proven experience working with large datasets and complex systems
- Hands-on experience with modern data science tools and technologies
Benefits & conditions
- Pay Rate: 62.50/hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (EST)
- Work Type: Fully Remote
- Contract Length: 6 months (potential extension)
