Veritech Consulting is seeking a Journeyman DevSecOps Developer to support the Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) in advancing Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) AI and cybersecurity capabilities.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and sustainment of secure DevSecOps pipelines and cloud-native environments supporting analytic and cyber platforms. You will work within an agile team to implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerized deployments, while ensuring alignment with DoD cybersecurity and compliance requirements.

- Assist in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Contribute to containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Integrate security controls, scanning tools, and compliance checks into development workflows
- Support automated testing and code quality validation processes
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cybersecurity teams to implement DevSecOps best practices
- Assist with deployment, troubleshooting, and sustainment of applications in secure environments
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR
- 1-3 years with a Master's degree, OR
- Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
- Experience supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and secure development practices
- Basic understanding of security scanning tools (SAST/DAST, vulnerability scanning)
- Experience with Git-based version control and branching strategies
- Ability to work in Agile/DevSecOps environments
- Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (TS preferred) with ability to obtain/maintain SCI, * Exposure to Kubernetes environments (CKA or similar certification is a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with automated testing frameworks
- Exposure to DoD cyber, AI, or analytics programs
- Understanding of DoD security frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs)
