Job description
Are you looking for a new career opportunity with an exciting company?! Then we've got the right team for you! In this role, you're responsible for the duties listed below., * Serve as the ED's dedicated, embedded point of contact for all Paragon EMR issues and requests
- Listen to physicians, APPs, and nursing staff to understand workflow pain points and translate them into actionable system fixes or workarounds
- Identify gaps in current system configuration and develop interim solutions while longer-term fixes are implemented
- Document workarounds, configurations, and processes clearly so nothing lives only in your head
- Act as the direct line between the ED and the Paragon implementation team, bypassing the general hospital IT queue when ED-specific issues arise
- Communicate clearly with Paragon representatives about ED workflow needs, escalating and tracking issues through to resolution
- Participate in implementation and optimization conversations, ensuring the ED's needs are represented and prioritized
- Stay current on Paragon updates, new functionality, and best practices relevant to emergency department workflows
- Train ED clinical and administrative staff on system features, updates, and workarounds as they roll out
- Create simple, practical reference materials that providers can use in a fast-moving environment
- Support new provider onboarding from a systems perspective
- Serve as a resource for staff who are still building confidence in the new system
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve how Paragon is configured for ED-specific workflows, including documentation, order sets, diagnosis capture, and patient flow
- Collaborate with the ED Director, Director of ED Administration, and clinical leadership to align system capabilities with operational goals
- Track recurring issues and advocate for permanent solutions rather than letting workarounds become permanent fixtures
Requirements
- Expert EMR platform user (Meditech Expanse/Paragon strongly preferred)
- Experience working in a hospital or ED environment/workflows
- Strong communicator who has demonstrated department liaison experience, * Hands-on experience with Paragon (Meditech Expanse/Paragon) strongly preferred; candidates with deep experience in comparable hospital EMR platforms will be considered
- Background in hospital or ED-specific workflows, either from an IT/informatics role or from clinical experience combined with systems work
- Strong communicator who can translate between clinical staff and technical teams without losing either audience
- Self-directed and comfortable operating without a lot of structure or hand-holding, especially in a dynamic, recently-implemented environment
- Someone who sees a broken workflow and wants to fix it, not just log it
- Patient with clinical staff who are learning a new system while running a busy department
- Experience creating training materials or delivering end-user training is a plus
