Job description
We are looking for an outstanding UX/UI designer to lead the design of the Orion platform. You will apply user-experience research and design methodologies to catalyze the development of the platform for molecular design. You will partner with product, UI engineering, drug-discovery science, marketing and senior leadership to oversee the user experience of therapeutic design.
In your role, you will work with Ph.D. drug-discovery scientists and commercial teams, as well as conduct user research and synthesize the many voices into a unified and strategic roadmap to guide our design. You will develop sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and working prototypes and iteratively refine solutions as designs are implemented to deliver creative, consistent and practical solutions. You will provide advocacy for human-centered design.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality user research to develop user personas and design strategy that can be articulated in a complete user experience
- Create and iteratively refine design solutions through mocks, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes
- Measure product success and value delivery through analytics
- Participate in formulating strategic product vision as it relates to user experience design
- Coach stakeholders in key aspects of design
- Contribute to building design resources with developers (e.g., UI component libraries), An opportunity to be a UX/UI designer in a fast-paced business focused on cutting-edge products directly impacting the discovery of new therapeutics

Requirements
- BS with a minimum of 7 years of experience OR MS with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR PhD with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- 3+ years' experience in UX/UI design at an agile, SaaS or similar organization
- Excellent user research skills and an ability to synthesize and translate technical user research and experience into elegant visual design.
- Well-acquainted with design tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.
- A history of working with diverse stakeholders including front-end engineers, customers and product representatives.
Preferences:
- Extensive experience working closely with an engineering team.
- Ability to work with PhD scientists and users.
- Understanding of molecules, chemistry, pharmaceuticals or a related field.
- A background or experience in software engineering for a STEM discipline.
- Experience working on cloud-based SAAS services

You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
