Job description
- Provide technical direction and architectural leadership for firmware subsystems spanning controller, platform, and system integration.
- Drive firmware build decisions that optimize performance, power, latency, reliability, and maintainability across product lines.
- Lead technical reviews, influence development standards, and establish guidelines for firmware development, quality, and validation.
- Build, develop, and optimize embedded firmware using C/C++, low-level programming concepts, and scripting/tooling as needed.
- Conduct detailed debugging and failure analysis across firmware, hardware, and system interactions using lab equipment and software instrumentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in embedded firmware/software development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and low-level debugging in embedded environments.
- Experience in firmware verification and validation, debugging, and failure analysis within laboratory and system settings.
- Experience with storage technologies and/or memory systems, and collaborating with hardware teams., * Deep knowledge of storage interfaces such as PCIe/NVMe and system-level storage architectures.
- Hands-on experience with NAND flash, non-volatile memory technologies, or memory controllers.
- Experience with ASIC/FPGA bring-up, pre-silicon validation, simulation, or hardware/software co-debug.
- Strong scripting/tool development skills (e.g., Python) and experience building debug/validation automation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams, lead ambiguous problem solving, and mentor engineers.
Benefits & conditions
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$161,000.00 - $275,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
