Job description

Mobile / Wind Applications Engineer is primarily responsible for the application and technical support of both current and prospective customers within the Mobile / Wind segment of Bonfiglioli USA's business. As a part of the USA M&W CAE team, the individual will be a technical resource in support of the Sales team, customers, and coworkers alike and provide product application proposals and technical solutions as a catalyst to the overall Sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process., * Review and collaborate with the sales team, coworkers, customers, etc. to obtain the necessary information and prepare application and technical proposals in a timely and professional manner.

  • Perform technical calculations / analysis to assist in the proper product selection for an application.
  • Creation and distribution of 2D installation drawings and 3D models using CAD software
  • Maintain and update project logs detailing specific application activity, product selections, and proposals.
  • Provide customers, sales personnel, distributors, etc. overall technical product and application support.
  • Create work instructions
  • BOM creation and maintenance
  • Develop additional technical tools (i.e. Spreadsheets, etc.), when needed, to help facilitate an efficient and professional image to the customer.
  • Assist the Sales department in evaluating and resolution of field application issues.
  • Generate a good working rapport with sales personnel, customers, distributors, coworkers, etc.
  • Evaluate, write, and present failure analysis reports to support the Aftersales Department in case of field issues that require resolution.

Requirements

  • BSME / BSMET from an accredited college / university or 5+ years of professional experience in a mechanical power transmission related field
  • Demonstrated experience with a 3D modeling software package. Experience with Siemens NX considered a plus
  • Experience using SAP is a plus
  • Experience in lean manufacturing considered as a plus

Competencies/ Requirements

  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • General knowledge using common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) along with general shop tools
  • Solid communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel in the USA and internationally when necessary
  • General knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems
  • General knowledge of manufacturing practices
  • Knowledge of electric motors & drives considered as a plus
  • Be solutions oriented
  • Flexible to take on new challenges as the business environment changes.
