Job description

For over 80 years, we've set the precedent that a pet food company has a greater duty than just feeding pets. We aspire to be the voice of the category - and we believe such leadership begins with our consumer-centric culture where every innovation and marketing strategy are backed by deep research and insights that push pet nutrition forward. Our research is what drives us to market.

As the Expert Business Analytics, you will partner with business leaders to translate complex, ambiguous challenges into actionable analytics opportunities. You will shape data driven strategies and lead the delivery of high impact solutions by framing problems, designing solution approaches, guiding internal and external technical teams, and ensuring business readiness. This role is accountable for driving adoption, delivering measurable outcomes, and turning analytics into tangible business value

  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial leaders by shaping analytics roadmaps and data driven strategies aligned to business priorities.
  • Translate complex business challenges into structured analytics problems with clear hypotheses, success criteria, and value definitions.
  • Lead cross functional problem-solving efforts, including scoping, prioritization, and business case development.
  • Partner with internal and external technical teams to design analytics solutions, guiding modeling approaches such as forecasting, experimentation, demand drivers, and optimization.
  • Serve as the primary translator between business stakeholders and development partners (e.g., internal teams, offshore resources, vendors).
  • Apply statistical, machine learning, and causal inference techniques to explore data, test hypotheses, and inform solution design-prioritizing business clarity over technical complexity.
  • Review and provide oversight on technical deliverables to ensure relevance, quality, and feasibility without owning full production builds.
  • Synthesize insights into clear, executive ready narratives tied to measurable commercial impact.
  • Drive adoption and sustained value by supporting training, integration into workflows, identifying barriers, and coaching analysts and junior data scientists while sharing industry trends and emerging opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of business analytics experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Master's degree + 3 years OR PhD + 1 year)
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Python, R, and Databricks for data exploration, prototyping, and framing analytic solutions
  • 1+ year of experience with experiment design, statistical modeling, causal inference, and machine learning

Other

  • Experience in CPG, retail, or demand generation analytics
  • Knowledge in cloud analytics environments, Power BI or other visualization tools for insight storytelling
