Job description
We are seeking a motivated and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team at Velocitor Solutions. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day IT operations and delivering exceptional technical support to employees across the organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and troubleshooting employee workstations, managing IT assets, and ensuring the smooth operation of systems, tools, and technologies used throughout the company.
This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The IT Support Specialist will work closely with team members to resolve technical issues, support onboarding and offboarding processes, and contribute to ongoing IT initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities
- Basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, and WiFi
- Support of service requests and minor projects
- Responsible for working cases ticketing system
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge for desktop/laptop environments.
- Support of VDI environment (VMWare Horizon)
- Escalate service issues that require higher-level engineer support
- Organize, manage, and articulate workload and tasks
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively and efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service
- Workstation management and troubleshooting
- Active Directory management and troubleshooting
- Microsoft 365/ Azure AD/ Exchange Online management and troubleshooting
- Onboard new hires/Deboard former employees
- Support AV systems (projection, video conferencing, and room scheduling)
- Maintaining inventory of IT equipment (computers, monitors, IT supplies etc.) and in an asset management system
- Support users on applications and tools (VOIP, MS TEAMS, Office Suite, Browsers, etc.)
- Set up and troubleshoot printer/copier/scanners
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity and Wifi issues
- Participate in on call schedule. Some off hours work is possible and may be required
Requirements
- Exceptional Communication Skills
- Microsoft Windows and Server Platforms
- Microsoft Office365 /Azure AD
- Mobile Technologies (Android, iOS, etc.)
- Basic network troubleshooting experience
- Ability to pass background check
- Backup Technologies (Veeam, etc.)
- Basic VMWare Knowledge
- CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, or Microsoft Certifications
- Technical Degree or 2 years + equivalent experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. (e.g., desktops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment)
