Job description

  • Deliver high-quality Linux compute support for engineering design teams
  • Provide technical direction and escalation for technologies in the Linux compute space
  • Automate system builds, configuration management, and operational tasks
  • Provision physical and virtual systems and maintain hardware as needed
  • Monitor and improve the overall health, performance, and reliability of Unix/Linux environments

Requirements

  • 3-5 years managing enterprise RedHat Linux environments (RHEL 8/9 preferred)
  • Strong scripting ability in Shell, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with LDAP and VMware virtualization
  • Hands-on hardware maintenance experience and ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-hosted Linux servers
  • Knowledge of Kickstart and configuration management tools (Puppet preferred)
  • Experience with FlexLm license management or revision control systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Project management experience
