The Senior Integrations Engineer will collaborate with the Director of Administrative Information Systems to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade integration solutions. This role will integrate technology, client engagement, and project leadership, driving SaaS-centric integration strategies for Howard Community College. The Senior Integrations Engineer will lead technical teams, collaborate with product and platform groups, and ensure that integrations are secure, scalable, and aligned with business outcomes. Essential Role Responsibilities
- Lead requirement-gathering with stakeholders to translate business needs into precise integration specifications. * Architect scalable, cost-effective solutions (REST, SOAP, JMS, Pub/Sub, etc.) that adhere to SOA principles and cloud best practices. * Define and maintain integration frameworks, standards, and reusable assets (API gateways, data connectors, ETL pipelines).
Oversee the full SDLC for integration projects-design, code, test, deploy, and support-using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall as appropriate.
Write high-quality, maintainable code (React, etc.) and conduct peer reviews.
Build, configure, and secure inbound/outbound APIs; leverage Ethos Platform, Data Connect.
Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality targets are met.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues and other professional-services staff. * Track KPIs, generate executive dashboards, and report status to clients and internal leadership.
Act as the primary technical liaison for customers, proactively identifying optimization opportunities and reducing technical debt.
Capture feedback, measure integration performance, and iterate on processes and tooling.
Conduct training sessions and develop user documentation, flowcharts, and manuals.
Identify risks, devise mitigation strategies, and manage issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with security, data-privacy, and change-management policies.
Evaluate third-party vendor solutions and make recommendations.
Partner with product, platform, and engineering teams to align integration roadmaps with overall product strategy.
Contribute to long-range planning for the organization's integration capabilities.
- Proactively maintain and monitor ERP systems, addressing potential issues to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficient in higher-education ERP systems (Ellucian, Jenzabar, Workday, etc.) ·
- Experience designing and implementing complex integration solutions (REST or SOAP or messaging RESTful web applications using HTTP methods).
- Experience with development on modern frameworks (Node.js or React, etc.).
- Familiarity with Ethos Platform (or similar integration platforms) is a plus.
- Strong grasp of SOA, micro-services, and middleware concepts.
- Proficiency with databases (PostgreSQL) and version control (Git or SVN).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication-both written and verbal-and stakeholder-management capabilities. Analytical problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and decision-making under pressure.

- Experience with higher-education specific integrations.
- Exposure to Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project methodologies.
