Job description

MTP is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Engineer to support and maintain client IT environments across multiple industries. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting network infrastructure, servers, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, and end-user systems in a managed services (MSP) environment.

The ideal candidate is highly technical, organized, and comfortable handling escalated support issues while also participating in project planning and infrastructure improvements. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

The Senior IT Engineer is responsible for:

·Network Infrastructure

  • Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot:
  • Firewalls
  • Routers
  • Switches
  • Wireless networks
  • VPN connectivity
  • Support network security best practices including VLANs, MFA, content filtering, and access controls
  • Configure and maintain:
  • SonicWall
  • Ubiquiti
  • Cisco
  • Fortinet
  • Meraki
  • or similar platforms
  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues

· Server, Cloud & Systems Administration

  • Administer and support:
  • Windows Server environments
  • Active Directory
  • Group Policy
  • DNS/DHCP
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Hyper-V and/or VMware
  • Support and maintain Azure environments including:
  • Azure AD / Entra ID
  • Virtual Machines
  • Azure networking
  • Azure backups
  • Identity and access management
  • Manage file servers, permissions, shared storage, and backups
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
  • Perform server migrations, upgrades, and patch management

· End User & Desktop Support

  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 escalation support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Troubleshoot Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Assist with workstation deployments and user onboarding/offboarding
  • Support remote users and remote access technologies

· MSP Operations & Client Support

  • Work within ticketing and documentation systems to track issues and resolutions
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding technical issues and project updates
  • Assist with technical assessments, audits, and client infrastructure planning
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * 5+ years of IT infrastructure and networking experience

  • Experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Switching/routing
  • Firewalls
  • Windows Server
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Active Directory
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced MSP environment
  • Professional customer service mindset
  • Experience with NinjaOne
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection
  • Experience supporting Apple MacBook and macOS environments
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites throughout NJ/PA.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work flexible hours when required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
