Job description

Job Summary: The Manager-IT Architecture is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a portfolio of applications within the Information Services Department, e. g. inpatient applications, ancillary applications, etc. Manages, supervises, and architects the ongoing design, build, testing, validation and ongoing support of various enterprise applications, enabling domain specific solutions that inform the strategic project / technology roadmaps of the LLUH entities that Information Services supports. Coordinates with downstream systems, vendors or systems administrators as needed. Works on the architecture, design and prototypes for projects or new solutions; works on technology and tool evaluation, proof of concept and prototypes to supports other architecture decision. Directs technology, architecture and projects efforts during the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Collaborates with external and internal teams and related functional areas to ensure products meet high quality standards and are delivered on-time and under budget. Oversees enterprise system integration, leads and participates in quality assurance for integration and patient enabling solutions. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, and/or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum six years of relevant experience in healthcare, information technology, and/or management required. Minimum two years of experience in project management, program management, leadership, and/or other pertinent business operations related work required. Minimum five years of application architecture experience in Enterprise Application Integration experience and three years of experience with the architecture design, preferred. Experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of systems integration, functional support, development and administration integration, especially within an integrated complex environment. Knowledge of Oracle Fusion HCM, Financial Systems (FSCM), Supply Management (SCM) and Oracle Cloud based applications such as Taleo-Fusion preferred. Knowledge of object object-oriented programming languages (C++, C#, Java), modern web technologies: ASP.NET, IIS, WCF, RESTful services, TCL, HTML5, JavaScript; JAVA, TCL, SQL, XML or a compiler language. Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize, coordinate, and manage the work of a major program. Ability to engage actively in complex discussions. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong knowledge of project management software such as MS Project, Access, and other project management tools. Relate and communicate positively and effectively with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Deal effectively with people and elicit support from other department areas, vendors, and customers. Organize technical work; demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving, analysis, documentation and presentation skills; analyze and interpret data, processes and needs based on limited information; make recommendations; manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives effectively. Think critically and work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; compose written material; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
