Job description

The primary purpose of this position is to design, develop, maintain, enhance, document, and support computer applications for the Radiation Protection Section of the Division of Health Service Regulation. This includes gathering requirements from users, designing databases and applications, programming, testing applications, implementing applications, training, and supporting users in the use of their applications. This work will involve maintaining superior customer relationships across the section and an understanding of the business functions and the technology components of the department.

This includes maintaining and developing applications using:

  • C#, .NET, Microsoft IIS, SQL, and GitHub
  • Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban

This includes:

  • Understanding business requirements and translating them into specific software requirements.
  • General IT architectural principles, technical designs, and specifications.
  • learning new software systems and programming languages by studying available references and self-paced training.

The IT division (ITD) is one of the divisions that report to the Operational Excellence portfolio. The ITD division comprises four sections: Implementation and Operations, Strategy and Workforce, Enterprise Technology, and Vendor and Finance. ITD offers the following services but not limited to implementations, operations, project/portfolio management, infrastructure, consulting, business division liaison, digital transformation, IT strategy, enterprise technology, IT contract and vendor management, and data office services., * Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Requirements

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Experience using SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal Reports
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Experience using MS Access
