Job description
You will build the primary user interface for a SaaS security platform-the layer that application teams, security architects, and business stakeholders interact with daily. This is not a pure UX design role or a generic frontend position. You are a hands-on engineer who can move quickly, integrate directly with FastAPI services, and apply practical UX thinking ( 25%) to make complex security data intuitive and actionable. If users don't trust or actively use the UI, the platform cannot scale-your work is critical to adoption. Core Responsibilities
UI & Frontend Development (~75%)
Design and build the core application UI used by:
- SaaS application owners
- Security architects
- Risk and oversight teams
Develop features such as:
- SaaS application inventory views
- Control adherence status (PASS / FAIL / INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE)
- Drill-down flows from findings to supporting evidence
- Change or drift tracking ("what changed since last run")
Build clean, scalable, and maintainable UI components that can evolve into a full product experience.
Backend Coordination (FastAPI Focus)
- Work closely with FastAPI-based backend services
- Define and consume:
- REST and async APIs
- Graph-based or aggregated endpoints
- Partner with integration engineers to shape UI-friendly data contracts
- Occasionally build lightweight FastAPI endpoints to support UI functionality
You are not expected to own backend systems but should be comfortable working across the stack to avoid bottlenecks.
UX & Usability (~25%)
Apply practical UX principles to:
- Reduce cognitive load for complex, security-heavy data
- Make control failures understandable without deep security expertise
Collaborate with security and engineering teams to:
- Clearly communicate findings
- Avoid ambiguous or overly alarmist messaging
Design simple, effective workflows that answer:
- What failed?
- Why did it fail?
- What happens next?
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with React and TypeScript
- Data visualization experience (tool flexible; preference to avoid Power BI)
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience building analytical drill-down dashboards or large-scale tools
- Strong experience developing high-performance web applications handling large datasets, Frontend Engineering
- 6+ years building production web applications
- Strong expertise in:
- React (or similar frameworks)
- TypeScript / JavaScript
- State management for data-intensive applications
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with iterative development
Backend Fluency
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI
- Experience working with:
- Async APIs
- JSON schema-based services
- Ability to independently troubleshoot frontend-backend integration issues
UX & Collaboration
- Proven ability to simplify complex technical data
- Experience building internal platforms or enterprise tools
- Strong collaboration with engineers, security teams, and stakeholders
Employee Value Proposition
- Opportunity to contribute to a large-scale initiative
- Potential for contract extension or conversion
- High-impact role shaping a core product experience
