Job description

SAIC is seeking a Junior Software Tester to join a team of software, test, and systems engineers who develop, test, and maintain the Joint Network Design Aid (JNDA) software in Huntsville, AL. JNDA is a Windows-based desktop application used to design Link-16 networks and generate associated output files. The candidate will work on an Agile Scrum team in a largely self-directed but collaborative environment., * Develop test criteria and test steps to ensure software is functioning properly

  • Develop automated tests using SmartBear TestComplete
  • Coordinate with developers to report bugs and provide feedback
  • Execute regression tests regularly and report issues promptly
  • Investigate test failures and document clear steps to reproduce them
  • Provide feedback on user interface design
  • Participate in Scrum events, including sprint planning, sprint reviews/demonstrations, and daily stand-ups

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field 0 years of relevant experience, 6+ years of experience and a High School Diploma can be accepted in lieu of a degree, * Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required, * Software testing, quality assurance, or related experience
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar)
  • Basic experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Ability to think critically and logically to identify test scenarios and edge cases
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including bug reporting and documentation
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated testing tools such as SmartBear TestComplete, Selenium, or similar
  • Experience creating manual test cases and executing test plans
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Understanding of Agile Scrum and/or DevSecOps practices
  • Programming experience with languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Link-16 or tactical data link knowledge
