Job description

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the EA-18G Growler Program in Camarillo, CA. This role involves developing and maintaining embedded real-time software systems in a highly collaborative, mission-critical defense environment. The engineer will work as part of an Agile scrum team to design, develop, and test software, resolve system defects, and participate in peer and milestone reviews. The role also requires close coordination with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure system performance and integration success., * On-site only due to classified program requirements (no remote work)

Why is the position open Work is performed onsite at Naval Air Warfare Center Point Mugu and Camarillo facility, supporting classified Department of Defense programs for an expanding program, e are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the EA-18G Growler Program in Camarillo, CA. This role involves developing and maintaining embedded real-time software systems in a highly collaborative, mission-critical defense environment. The engineer will work as part of an Agile scrum team to design, develop, and test software, resolve system defects, and participate in peer and milestone reviews. The role also requires close coordination with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

C++ is MOST important

  • Embedded real-time software development (RTOS environments)
  • Programming in Ada, C/C++, C#, and Python
  • Object-oriented software development (OOP)
  • Agile / Scrum methodology experience
  • Version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, ClearCase)
  • Debugging and defect resolution in complex systems
  • Collaboration across cross-functional engineering teams
  • Experience with tools like DOORS, Jira, Confluence
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux, Windows, and Green Hills Integrity RTOS
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, * Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (required)
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Experience across full software development lifecycle (SDLC), especially within DoD programs
  • Background in real-time embedded systems and hardware/software integration
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) systems preferred
  • Familiarity with large-scale, safety-critical systems development
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in structured, compliance-heavy environments
