Requirements

Do you have experience in Visual communication design?, * Working knowledge of how real apps are built. You understand components, state, and what's cheap vs. expensive to ship.

  • Experience with AI-native surfaces, or a clearly articulated vision for what they should be.
  • A bias for shipping. You move, you iterate, you improve in production.

Nice to have

  • You write production frontend code (React / TypeScript).
  • Experience designing motion and transitions - knowing when animation clarifies state changes and when it just gets in the way.
  • Accessibility expertise.
  • Background in ERP, accounting, or financial software.
  • Prior AI product work.

  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off, We use AI tools throughout our workflow - for scaffolding, exploration, and getting to higher-fidelity faster. We expect you to do the same. What we care about is whether the resulting work is actually good: interfaces that are clear, intentional, and built for people who use them all day.

Our engineering team already cares about quality. You won't be fighting uphill for buy-in on craft - you'll be raising the standard of what already exists and making the case for what comes next.

This role is based in our Stuart, FL office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

Send your portfolio and a short note on a project you're proud of: what were you designing, what problems did you solve, and what shipped as a result. We care more about your thinking and taste than your credentials.

About the company

Round 2 AI is an AI-first business management consultancy serving small and mid-sized businesses that have outgrown the patchwork of disconnected tools holding their operations together. We work across accounting, operations, and AI - building proprietary systems tailored to each client's environment rather than selling a one-size-fits-all product. Because our clients run their businesses on what we build - eight hours a day, every day - the quality of the interface is inseparable from the quality of the product. We're not making a marketing site. We're making software that needs to be dense, fast, and genuinely pleasant to work in. We're looking for a designer who thinks in apps, not pages. Someone with strong opinions about what AI-native software actually looks like when it's done right - and the taste to pull it off. You'll own the design surface end to end, working directly with the tech lead, engineers, and the founders. No design committee. No decks to nowhere. What you'll own * Design surface, end to end - information architecture, interaction patterns, visual language, motion, and the design system. You define the standard; you also maintain it. * AI integration design - not a chat bubble, but connective tissue. Context-aware assistance, inline suggestions, smart fills, anomaly callouts, draft entries, and agentic flows where AI proposes and the user commits. * Natural language as a first-class input - alongside clicks and keyboard, not instead of them. * Audit trails and reversibility - designed from the start, because this is a financial product and users need to trust it. * Prototypes that translate - in real code if you're a design engineer, in tools that hand off cleanly if you're not. Either way, you don't throw work over a wall. What you'll need * A portfolio of actual apps - dashboards, editors, admin tools, productivity software, developer tools. Not landing pages. Not brand sites.
