Job description
This position is a leadership role in the Medium Caliber Gun Systems Business Unit within Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. As a leader in Guns Engineering, the Configuration Management Manager leads and manages a team that is responsible for configuration management, data management and technical writing functions. This position is located in Mesa, Arizona., * Lead and manage the configuration management, data management, and technical writing functions at the Mesa site
- Sets role and performance expectations, provides feedback, coaching, training and growth opportunities for direct reports
- Successfully manages assignments and forecasts future demand such that the functions are appropriately staffed and have the correct skill sets
- Provides guidance to staff on interpretation of operating procedures and process documents
- Provide technical guidance in the areas of configuration management, data management and technical writing
- Assists the engineering department leader in preparation and execution of department budgets
- Leads and coordinates continuous improvement projects
Requirements
-
9 years of professional experience in the areas of configuration management and data management Will consider Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Information Technology, or closely related Systems or Programming field of study plus 5 years of experience; or Master's degree plus 3 yrs of experience.

Prior management experience is highly desired

Demonstrated Experience is technical writing

Familiarity with USG / DoD processes and requirements involving configuration management, data management and service manuals

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and system description documents

Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.

Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities

Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations

Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success.

Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
